About Videnta
Built by Dentists.
Designed for Independence.
Videnta was co-founded by Dr. Scott Yegge of Advanced Family Dentistry and Dr. Bob Margeas of Iowa Dental Group. Like many successful independent practice owners, they were approached by Dental Service Organizations (DSOs) and private equity groups interested in acquiring their practices.
They took those meetings seriously. But ultimately, they came to a different conclusion.

Why Videnta Was Created
Dr. Scott Yegge & Dr. Bob Margeas
Co-Founders, Videnta
Dr. Scott Yegge and Dr. Bob Margeas are accomplished dentists, entrepreneurs, and nationally respected leaders who share a common mission: helping independent dentists build stronger, more profitable practices while preserving their autonomy.
As CEO of Videnta and a practicing dentist, Dr. Yegge combines clinical expertise with executive leadership to help dental organizations grow through operational excellence, innovation, and strategic business development. His educational background in both medicine and dentistry, as well as building multiple businesses in both professions, gives him a unique perspective on healthcare delivery, allowing him to bridge clinical decision-making with sound business strategy.
Dr. Margeas is internationally recognized as one of the profession’s leading educators in restorative and implant dentistry. A Diplomate of the American Board of Operative Dentistry, he has authored numerous scientific publications, lectured around the world, and served as Editor-in-Chief of Inside Dentistry. His contributions to clinical education have earned him recognition as one of dentistry’s most respected voices in restorative care.
Together, as owners of successful independent Iowa dental practices, they founded Videnta to give independent dentists access to the buying power, strategic resources, and business expertise needed to compete and thrive, without giving up ownership or control.
Their vision is simple: preserve the future of independent dentistry by helping practices become stronger today and ensure the next generation of dentists have the same opportunities to become business owners.
Videnta was built to ensure that:
- Independent dentists can successfully continue to own and operate their practices
- Patients can receive care from providers rooted in their communities
- Future dentists still have a path to meaningful ownership
Videnta isn’t just about solving today’s challenges. It’s about building a sustainable model for the future of dentistry in Iowa—one where independence remains a viable, competitive, and rewarding path. A model where dentists can grow, transition, and eventually pass on their practices without losing what they’ve built.

Why Videnta Is Needed – Dr. Scott Yegge
When I first began discussing Videnta with fellow dentists, one question came up over and over again:
“Why did you build this, and how do you benefit?”
It’s a fair question. The answer is simple: I built Videnta to solve the same challenges my own practice faces.
As an independent practice owner, I experienced the increasing pressure of rising operating costs, shrinking margins, and the growing presence of DSOs. I believed there had to be a better way for independent dentists to remain profitable, maintain their autonomy, and have a clear path toward the future of eventual retirement.
Videnta was never intended to become one person’s company that could someday be rolled up and sold for a financial windfall. From the beginning, the vision was to create a sustainable organization that would continue serving independent dentistry for one generation to the next, in perpetuity.
The reality is that I benefit from Videnta the same way every participating practice does.

My practice gains the purchasing power, operational resources, strategic partnerships, and professional support that I could not have obtained on my own. Those same advantages are available to every practice that participates with Videnta.
As my career evolved, including navigating some spine impingement challenges that made me unable to practice dentistry full-time, I took the opportunity to build an organization that would benefit our profession as a whole.
I also recognized something many practice owners quietly worry about: What does retirement look like? Who will buy my practice? That experience reinforced another important part of Videnta’s mission.
We wanted to create a model that supports dentists throughout every stage of their career, from associates who aspire to become owners, to established practices looking to become more profitable, to owners seeking a predictable and planned transition into retirement.
Ultimately, that’s what Videnta is about. It’s dentists working together to build something none of us could accomplish alone, a cooperative model that helps independent practices become more profitable and sustainable while ensuring ownership remains in the hands of dentists, not corporations.

What Videnta Provides

Economic Strength: Reimbursements from commercial insurance remain flat while employment and many other costs continue to rise. This alone creates margin pressure for practices. Together with Videnta, we share collective insights, leverage best practices, and provide opportunities to administrative support services that improve efficiencies and lower operational expenses, strengthening profitability across all participating practices.

Career Pathways: Dentistry is shifting–new graduates face high debt loads and are seeking clear career progression opportunities, while costs of gaining ownership have steadily increased. Videnta provides a streamlined pathway for associates to become owners. In addition to providing associate financing to become minority equity owners, we also work with programs through the IADG to locate financial resources for recent graduates who want to open or acquire an entire practice.

Technology & Innovation: The rise of AI and other emerging technologies is reshaping dentistry. Videnta provides opportunities to implement technology and other innovations while maintaining the quality of care for the patients you serve. As part of Videnta, members benefit from our continuous identification of innovative tools that participating practices can implement.

The Big Picture: Videnta is about more than ownership transition—it’s about creating stability, growth, and sustainability for independent dentistry. By uniting under a cooperative model, we harness economic, social, and technological forces to protect what matters today while preparing every practice for success in the future.
